The Bikaner city in Rajasthan is set to become the first in the country to begin the door-to-door Covid-19 vaccination drive. The drive will be initiated on Monday for beneficiaries aged 45 and above. Mobile teams have been formed for this initiative to vaccinate people in their homes. The district administration has set up a helpline where beneficiaries can register for vaccinations by providing their names and addresses via WhatsApp.
COVID-19: Bharat Biotech to carry out clinical trials in United States to support marketing application for Covaxin
Covaxin producer said it will be carrying out clinical trials in the United States to support the marketing application for its vaccine.The company’s US partner Ocugen Inc., will now pursue submission of a biologics licence application for Covaxin, which will delay the launch of the vaccine in the country.

All India Institute of Medical Sciences conducted a preliminary study of 63 people, among them 36 people already had both the doses and 27 received single doses of COVID 19 vaccines. The study claimed the predominant nature of COVID-19 Delta Variant (B1.617.2) after receiving respective doses.
Pfizer spokesperson said, the company has offered to make the required doses of COVID-19 vaccine at a not-for-profit price for all low and lower-middle income countries after having the necessary regulatory clearance.The price under $10 (about Rs 730) in India, could be the lowest price for the mRNA-based single dose of COVID-19 vaccine globally.
Last month the centre relaxed rules to potentially allow third-party apps to offer vaccine bookings. The head of the government’s tech platform said, to provide online COVID-19 vaccine bookings easier in India Paytm, Infosys and MakeMyTrip are among companies seeking approval.
For storage of Sputnik V vaccine across India, Rockwell Industries, a commercial cold chain appliance manufacturer, will provide WHO PQS (World Health Organisation – Performance, Quality, and Safety)-certified Covid-19 vaccine freezers in partnership with Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories.
